What does a Democratic Therapeutic Community mean?
What does a Democratic Therapeutic Community mean?
A Democratic Therapeutic Community means that patients are actively involved in the life and running of the community. This includes participating in daily group meetings, recreational activities, and shared living tasks. Everyone has a voice in decision-making, and with support from staff, patients take responsibility for both themselves and the community. This approach encourages personal growth, mutual respect and empowerment, helping you to understand yourself better and develop healthier ways of living.
