Complaints
Your right to complain about a health and disability service is covered by Right 10 of the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights.
If you believe Ashburn Clinic has breached a patient’s rights and wish to make a complaint to/about Ashburn Clinic, you can:
- Address your complaint to the Medical Director of Ashburn Clinic via: complaints@ashburn.co.nz
- Contact a health and disability advocate to help you with raising your concerns directly: https://advocacy.org.nz/contact-an-advocate-now/
- Make a complaint to the Health and Disability Commissioner: https://www.hdc.org.nz/making-a-complaint/make-a-complaint-to-hdc/. Alternatively, a complaint can be made with the authority responsible for registering a health practitioner; they will then forward it to the Health and Disability Commissioner.
Royal Commission of Inquiry
The Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry is looking into what happened to children, young people and vulnerable adults in State and faith-based care in Aotearoa New Zealand between the years 1950-99.
