Education Services

Ashburn Clinic is an independent psychiatric hospital operated by a Charitable Trust Board. One of the aims of the Trust is to promote the study of psychiatry and psychiatric practice.

To this end, Ashburn Clinic:
  • has offered a full-time three-year training position in psychotherapy annually. Ashburn Clinic has decided not to offer a traineeship for the 2017 year.
  • coordinates an Advanced Theory of Psychotherapy Modular seminar series - enquiries and applications for the modules are welcome prior to the module start dates.

  • hosts a series of clinical supervision seminars for professionals

  • undertakes training placements for:
- psychiatric registrars
- medical students
- nursing students
- occupational therapy students

  • is accredited to deliver specialist medical training in psychotherapy

The Clinic's education services provide professional, clinical or theory training to a variety of groups. It has quality management systems in place to ensure that training conforms to the specific requirements of the governing bodies of each of the groups or persons under training: for example, RANZCP.
